To provide & document the method of Maintenance and Calibration of Bio Medical Equipments to ensure upkeep of hospital’s bio medical facilities & equipment to ensure that

• Process capability continues to be satisfactory
• Ensure optimal maintenance of biomedical equipment
• Required data / records are maintained
• Preventive/Corrective actions / breakdown maintanace/ improvements are initiated.
• Maintenance and calibration of all biomedical equipment in the hospital.
• Bio Medical Engineer, RMO and Medical Superintendent are responsible for maintenance of this process.

A comprehensive list of Facilities /instruments / devices ( unit wise - containing all different types of instruments / devices used available with details such as

• Their Identification
• Location
• Range of Operation
• Maintenance & calibration requirements

Ensure adequate number of emergency sparesThe maintenance and calibration requirements are normally identified. For all new procured instruments / devices, it is ensured that these requirements are identified. When any instrument / device break down, biomedical engineer is informed. Biomedical engineer log the requirement of maintenance / repair in Breakdown register and informs to Bio Medical Engineer.
